Co-op Governance

Dill Pickle Food Co-op doesn't operate a store yet, but we are working on it! We are moving from the conceptual to the business planning phase of our co-op development.

Like others around the world, our co-op adheres to several basic Co-op Principles, which trace their roots back to the first consumer co-op in Rochdale, England.

We are currently an Illinois not-for-profit corporation and are working to re-incorporate under the Minnesota Cooperative Law, which we feel is friendly to co-ops.

Beyond the Minnesota Co-op Law, the remaining framework for our organizational structure is set forth in our Articles of Incorporation and our Bylaws.

Dill Pickle is owned and governed by its members who annually elect a 9-member board of directors to oversee activity and set policy.
